Job Description:

Our client is a software engineering and IT consulting provider that specializes in online casino and sportsbook solutions. They are currently looking for a Java Developer to join their team in Budapest.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and developers
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers
  • Occasionally step in to lead the team when necessary
  • Maintain and continuously improve the scalability and high availability of the system to support growing load
  • Work with third-party game providers and integrate their games into the aggregation platform

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in relevant production environments
  • Deep expertise in OOP, Java, and SQL, coupled with an understanding of distributed systems
  • Familiarity with Java, Spring boot, MySQL (or any relational database), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
  • Comfortable working independently and owning features from concept to release
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle technical challenges with minimal guidance
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • able to collaborate well with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken)
  • Proactive and self-driven

Nice to have:

  • Expertise in the casino domain or experience with playing in casinos
  • Experience with high-load applications
  • Familiarity with Redis, Claude Code/Cursor
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and tuning
