Job Description:

Baptist Health is currently looking for a Medical Technologist Specialist to join our Laboratory Services department at Baptist Medical Center South. Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm This is a Full-Time Days opportunity working with rotating every fourth weekend. Baptist South is serving the rapidly growing neighborhoods in southern Duval and northern St. Johns counties. The hospital blends resort-like amenities with the most advanced medical care, providing for the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients and their families.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in one or more laboratory sections
  • Perform duties of a Medical Technologist, in addition to being technically responsible for key areas of the BMCS Laboratory
  • Oversight and review of quality control, analyzer maintenance and troubleshooting, technical procedure writing, quality improvement initiatives, and knowledge/adherence to regulatory standards
  • Assist with ensuring that quality assurance and quality control meets CAP and Joint Commission regulations
  • Assist with Point of Care and CAP Proficiencies
  • Maintain records of performance as defined in the laboratory's general and sectional policy and procedure manuals
  • Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals
  • May instruct new employees and students

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree
  • 3-5 Years Clinical Laboratory Experience
  • Registered Medical Technologist Required
  • Licensed Medical Technologist Required
  • minimum of 3 years Generalist experience in an Acute Care Hospital

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Medical Technologist (MT)
  • Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
