Job Description:

Clinical Informatics Specialist (Medical Scribe) supporting primary care providers with clinical documentation. Assists providers throughout patient care journey - huddling each morning, joining in exam room to observe and document, and assisting with next steps after visits. Becomes expert in value-based care model and documentation of chronic conditions.

Job Responsibility:

Documenting patient encounters in structured notes
Assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes
Preparing After Visit Summaries
Consulting with provider to ensure accurate documentation
Requesting and reviewing medical records
Supporting clinical documentation improvement
Preparing for and supporting Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews
Placing orders and referrals
Addressing tasks
Supporting care team with clinical documentation responsibilities

Requirements:

Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications
Prior clinical experience including shadowing and/or volunteering
Prior scribe or transcription experience (preferred)
Advanced listening and communication skills
Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new technical workflows
Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by communities served (where indicated)
Ability to adapt to new workflows and quickly learn new concepts
Ability to type 70+ words per minute (strongly preferred)
Ability to take direction and be a team member
Excellent job attendance including ability to work in-person
Ability to commit to at least 1 year in role
Ability to work approximately 40-45 hours per week
Compliance with hospital and Oak Street Health policies including HIPAA
US work authorization

Nice to have:

Prior scribe or transcription experience
Ability to type 70+ words per minute
