Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a hospital setting
Blood bank experience required (hard stop)
Strong proficiency in transfusion services and blood banking procedures
Experience with chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis testing
Ability to troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and resolve testing issues
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively
ASCP – American Society for Clinical Pathology (required, active)

Job Responsibility

Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing in a hospital clinical laboratory
Execute all blood bank functions including ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification, crossmatching, and transfusion reaction workups
Perform testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, and serology
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and instrumentation
Review, validate, and accurately report laboratory results
Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Maintain proper specimen handling, labeling, storage, and disposal
Follow safety protocols including infection control and hazardous materials handling
Work independently while collaborating with laboratory and clinical teams

ASCP SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking) certification required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a transfusion service or blood center

Translate customer needs and regulatory requirements into product design inputs and specifications
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and marketing teams to evaluate and develop novel technologies (e.g., molecular typing, next gen serology based testing, AI-assisted interpretation, automation)
Participate in feasibility studies, usability testing, and clinical trials for new products
Analyze performance data and contribute to product performance testing and regulatory submissions
Support R&D teams as a consultant to help investigate technical challenges
Represent the company at scientific conferences, workshops, and customer meetings
Develop educational content to help build internal team competancies
