Job Description

Through in-field scientific engagement with healthcare providers and external experts, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) fosters a more educated healthcare environment

Job Responsibility

  • Communicating their deep knowledge of GSK data in the context of overall patient care to ensure evidence-based understanding of the science behind GSK medicines and vaccines
  • Gathering valuable insights on GSK products and services, and on medical and scientific information to better understand patient needs and evidence gaps
  • Engage in one to one scientific dialogue with external experts around GSK’s medicines and vaccines
  • Support deep scientific exchange, medical partnerships and clinical research
  • Act as an expert speaker at scientific events to disseminate information to larger groups of healthcare providers
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for Medical Information from healthcare providers
  • Act as the interface between the professional healthcare community and the internal GSK medical team and its affiliates
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with Medical Representatives and Commercial colleagues
  • Partner with matrix colleagues to ensure strategies and business plans are both patient and business focused
  • Partner with ClinOps to establish early scientific relationship in research with EE/Investigators
  • Disseminate important safety information to healthcare professionals
  • Support GSK study teams with the provision of scientific education and enquiry management
  • Provide scientific education training for business partners
  • Maintain a level of expertise in the evolving scientific / therapeutic area and in competitor medicines and vaccines
  • Attend scientific meetings and congresses
  • Fully understand and comply with GSK standards and policies
  • Promote collaborative medical projects

Requirements

  • Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine or equivalent healthcare qualification
  • Experience in medical affairs within the pharma industry, previous experience as MSL will be highly valued
  • Strong knowledge of the Spanish healthcare system and stakeholder environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and a good level of English
  • Ability to travel regularly within the territory assigned
  • Residence in País Vasco

Nice to have

  • Experience leading medical engagement or advocacy programs at national level
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary or matrix teams
  • Previous experience in Vaccines therapy area is highly valued
  • Track record of supporting clinical research or investigator-initiated studies
  • Familiarity with health technology assessment and market access considerations
  • Strong skills in virtual engagement and delivering scientific content via webinars
