Job Description

In this role as Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) you will be the gastroenteritis scientific expert responsible for discussing disease state and reactively, our products, patient treatment trends and studies in these areas in which we are involved. Through scientific interactions, gain valuable insights into treatment patterns and scientific activities in gastroenteritis, and provide strategic input to the company Medical Affairs plan. Through scientific interactions with external stakeholders, increase medical value of our products, fairly based on the risk-benefit profile of our drugs and contribute to fostering innovative therapeutic approaches to benefit patients. Through activities in line with the Medical Affairs Plan, the MSL is jointly responsible for the realisation of short-term and long-term company goals, and accountable for execution of the MSL activities described in the relevant country specific Medical Affairs plan.

Job Responsibility

  • Systematically identify the scientific exchange needs of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), investigators, and other stakeholders in patient care

  • and serve as a liaison between Global Medical Affairs and external partners
  • Develop and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with thought leaders across healthcare, academia, payer, and government organisations in line with strategic territory plans, managing scientific partnerships, exchange, and compliant communication of the emerging product portfolio to meet the educational and professional needs of key customers
  • Present clinical and disease state information to diverse internal and external audiences — including KOLs, formulary/decision-makers, and other HCPs — and deliver therapeutic area training to Sales, Medical, and other colleagues upon request
  • Respond within defined timelines and quality standards to unsolicited medical information inquiries from HCPs, whether direct or escalated through the field force or other stakeholders
  • report adverse events per Alfasigma policy
  • Provide scientific liaison support to investigators involved in company-sponsored interventional or observational studies and investigator-sponsored research (ISR), identifying data gaps and escalating ISR needs within Medical Affairs
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and guidelines — including relevant SFDA guidelines, the Code of Ethical Practices, and company policies

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (Bachelor of Pharmacy, MD, PhD, or equivalent), with licensure by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a practicing physician or pharmacist
  • Saudi National, as per SFDA regulation
  • Minimum 3 years of field MSL experience in the country, with established credible relationships within the local scientific and medical community
  • Demonstrated ability to exchange scientific ideas effectively with KOLs and colleagues, and to present clinical and medical data confidently to both small and large audiences
  • In-depth therapeutic competency in Inflammation, with experience in gastroenterology considered a strong plus
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory, Global Medical Affairs, and other internal functions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Communicate progress for those IISs approved and supported
  • Gather, translate, and communicate actionable, strategy-aligned insights from scientific, educational, and conference setting interactions
