Our client is looking to fill the role Medical Science Liasison. This position serves as a field-based scientific liaison between the company and key opinion leaders. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) delivers accurate, balanced, and unbiased scientific information to stakeholders while gathering and communicating insights from thought leaders to internal decision-makers. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships within the scientific and clinical communities. This is a full-time, field-based position covering multiple states and involves extensive travel.
Job Responsibility
Build and maintain scientific and clinical relationships with key opinion leaders and academic institutions to support scientific exchange in Reproductive and Women’s Health, as well as other therapeutic areas as needed
Provide healthcare professionals and decision-makers with accurate, timely, and unbiased responses to unsolicited medical inquiries regarding company products
Respond to Medical Information Request Forms (MIRFs) in a timely, accurate, and balanced manner in collaboration with Medical Communications
Deliver ongoing scientific support and training to sales teams and other internal stakeholders
Document and report adverse events to the appropriate internal teams in compliance with company procedures
Maintain active engagement with relevant medical, research, and educational organizations within the assigned territory
Stay current with medical and scientific advancements in assigned therapeutic areas
Develop and deliver specialized scientific and educational presentations, including formulary discussions for health systems and managed care organizations
Support Medical Affairs in the development of presentations, publications, and other scientific materials
Participate in advisory boards, speaker trainings, investigator meetings, and regional, national, and international conferences as needed
Support the review of investigator-initiated study proposals in alignment with company policies and industry best practices
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Participate in key scientific conferences by staffing medical booths, gathering competitive intelligence, and attending scientific sessions
Requirements
Advanced degree required (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, or PA)
1–2 years of MSL or Medical Affairs experience preferred
candidates without prior MSL experience may be considered
Experience in the relevant therapeutic area strongly preferred
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with healthcare professionals at all levels
Working knowledge of FDA and OIG regulations, as well as clinical trial design and statistical principles
Ability to represent the organization as a primary field-based medical contact
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
performance is evaluated based on long-term objectives and outcomes
Education: Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, or PA)
Language: English
Experience: Therapeutic area expertise strongly preferred
prior MSL experience preferred
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of FDA/OIG requirements, clinical research design, and data analysis
Travel: Up to 80% (primarily Eastern US and nationally as required)
Nice to have
1–2 years of MSL or Medical Affairs experience preferred
candidates without prior MSL experience may be considered
