A field-based role for a scientific expert supporting an advanced diagnostics portfolio of automated organism identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST), and resistance-related diagnostic solutions. The MSL leads scientific exchange with key external stakeholders, supports Medical Affairs initiatives, and translates IDAST data into clinically meaningful insights for microbiology labs, stewardship programs, infectious disease clinicians, pharmacists, and health-system decision-makers. The role connects IDAST results to clinical interpretation, stewardship, resistance-informed decision-making, and real-world hospital and laboratory workflows.
Job Responsibility
Lead scientific and clinical support for the IDAST portfolio - automated identification, susceptibility testing, and resistance-related solutions
Conduct high-quality scientific exchange with clinical microbiologists, lab directors, ID clinicians, pharmacists, stewardship leaders, and hospital decision-makers
Develop and deliver scientific education on organism ID/AST principles, resistance interpretation, stewardship relevance, workflow integration, and clinical utility
Support KOL identification and relationship development through advisory boards, scientific meetings, and compliant Medical Affairs activities
Translate IDAST performance characteristics into clinical and operational relevance - therapy optimization, resistance reporting, and stewardship strategy
Capture field insights on unmet needs, evidence gaps, implementation barriers, and customer perceptions to inform medical strategy
Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Commercial, and Market Access teams
Requirements
1–3 years of relevant experience in one or more of: infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, clinical microbiology, microbiology diagnostics, susceptibility/resistance testing, or hospital laboratory environments
Prior MSL, clinical scientist, infectious disease/stewardship pharmacist, or field-based medical/scientific role is preferred
Experience with clinical microbiology labs, stewardship programs, ID teams, or susceptibility/resistance-focused workflows preferred
PharmD required
Must reside within 30 - 60 minutes or 50 miles of a medium-to-large hub airport (anywhere in the US)
