Job Description

Join Amgen as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the oncology therapeutic area. This field-based role involves engaging with Scientific Experts to advance and communicate Amgen's scientific platform, in alignment with our corporate goals. You will support the solid tumor portfolio within Amgen Medical Affairs, ensuring the dissemination of accurate and valuable scientific information to the medical community. The ideal candidate will effectively convey complex, cutting-edge scientific data and research concepts to healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with Scientific Experts
  • Provide valuable feedback from field interactions to Amgen stakeholders to enhance the medical strategy
  • Support Amgen-sponsored studies and handle requests for investigator-sponsored research proposals
  • Offer scientific support in line with MSL compliance standards for commercial and other colleagues handling healthcare professional (HCP) inquiries
  • Participate in medical tasks and activities as assigned by the Country Medical Affairs Lead
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the MSL value proposition, achieve results, and exemplify Amgen's values and leadership attributes
  • Communicate and interact with professionalism and tact
  • Promote openness and innovation through actions and decisions

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PhD, NP, Pharm D, etc.) or commensurate experience required
  • Work experience in Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs or Clinical Development in oncology area
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills (including strong demonstration of ability to network) required
  • Ability to travel up to 60% for territory management, attendance at regional and national conferences/workshops, and attendance at company meetings
  • Must have ability to learn to use new business applications across hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Professional, proactive demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • English speaking skill at minimum level

Nice to have

  • At least 3 years previous pharmaceutical industry experience as an MSL or other Medical/Clinical Affairs role or a minimum of 3 years relevant clinical/scientific experience is preferred
  • Scientific expertise in the therapeutic area, related products, disease state, and interested in latest discoveries
  • Project management and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of clinical research, drug safety, legal and compliance environment
  • English speaking skill at business level
