Job Description:

Join our radiology department as a Medical Scheduler to coordinate patient appointments, ensure seamless communication, and maintain accurate documentation within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This long-term contract position is ideal for individuals with experience in medical scheduling and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Schedule radiology appointments using electronic medical records systems
  • ensure patient appointments are accurately booked based on procedure requirements, provider availability, and physician referrals
  • update schedules to accommodate cancellations, rescheduling requests, and emergency procedures
  • maintain precise records by entering patient information, appointment details, and procedure codes
  • verify patient insurance eligibility and collaborate with billing teams
  • communicate promptly with patients, referring physicians, and internal teams
  • follow established protocols and policies to ensure confidentiality and compliance
  • coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and other department staff
  • work closely with front desk, billing, and patient services teams

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • medical office administration training or certification is a plus
  • previous experience in a medical scheduling, receptionist, or related role within a healthcare setting
  • familiarity with radiology procedures and terminology
  • proficiency in electronic medical records systems such as Cerner and other scheduling tools
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of healthcare regulations and confidentiality practices
  • exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • Medical office administration training or certification
  • familiarity with radiology procedures and terminology
