Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Scheduler to join our healthcare team in Freehold, New Jersey. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for individuals who excel in managing schedules, coordinating patient cases, and maintaining efficient communication within a hospital setting. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.

Job Responsibility

  • Organize and maintain the waiting area to ensure a welcoming environment for patients, including stocking refreshments
  • Schedule inpatient and outpatient cases based on departmental needs and availability
  • Coordinate case details and documentation with physician offices and other departments
  • Accurately input diagnosis codes and ensure proper scheduling by confirming surgeon-provided details with established codes
  • Scan and organize paperwork using imaging systems, ensuring all documents are correctly filed
  • Manage incoming faxes promptly and take necessary actions to address them
  • Document special patient needs or procedural requirements clearly and accurately
  • Troubleshoot scheduling issues, including adjusting case times to optimize efficiency
  • Ensure all departmental forms and checklists are prepared, stocked, and available in procedural areas
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards while preparing imaging and reports

Requirements

  • Proven experience in patient scheduling within a healthcare or hospital environment
  • Ability to manage patient appointments and demographic information accurately
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, clinicians, and other hospital staff
  • Proficiency in scanning and organizing patient documentation using imaging systems
  • Knowledge of diagnosis codes and their application in scheduling processes
