Job Description:

Our client is in need of a detail-oriented Medical Records Technician to join their team in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing patient files and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. This position requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to confidentiality, as well as a service-oriented approach to assisting staff and patients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Organize and maintain patient files and charts, including setting up new records in relevant software applications
  • Ensure the secure release of protected health information while adhering to federal and state regulations
  • Monitor medical records systems and applications to maintain data accuracy and availability
  • Provide technical assistance and support to staff regarding medical chart maintenance and related issues
  • Offer guidance to patients and staff on medical record-related inquiries
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and foster positive relationships across departments
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews of medical charts to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Perform additional assigned duties related to medical records management

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/(EHR) systems such as Cerner Technologies, Allscripts, and AHLTA
  • Familiarity with tools like Adobe Acrobat and 3M software for document management
  • Experience in auditing and maintaining compliance within healthcare settings
  • Strong ability to handle confidential information and uphold patient privacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to assist with clinical trial operations and document control
  • Competence in creating charts and graphs to support data presentation
  • Skilled in answering inbound calls and delivering attentive customer service
