Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Technician to join our team in SeaTac, Washington. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of patient records by scanning, indexing, and managing medical documentation. This role requires a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, adherence to healthcare regulations, and a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and organize medical documents for scanning, including sorting, removing staples, and verifying legibility
  • Digitize paper medical records and other documentation using designated electronic systems
  • Index and assign scanned documents accurately to the corresponding patient charts using Solarity and Epic systems
  • Review scanned images for quality, clarity, and proper categorization, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
  • Address and resolve errors, duplicates, or misfiled documents in coordination with relevant staff
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to state, federal, and organizational healthcare regulations
  • Assist with general medical record duties, such as filing, retrieving, and releasing records in accordance with policies
  • Collaborate with team members to support departmental activities and initiatives aimed at process improvements
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and other stakeholders, following established procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • coursework or certification in Health Information Management is preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare office or health information management department
  • Familiarity with Epic systems and Solarity indexing software is highly desirable
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medical documentation
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards is advantageous
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Epic systems and Solarity indexing software is highly desirable
