We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Technician to join our team in SeaTac, Washington. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of patient records by scanning, indexing, and managing medical documentation. This role requires a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, adherence to healthcare regulations, and a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and organize medical documents for scanning, including sorting, removing staples, and verifying legibility
Digitize paper medical records and other documentation using designated electronic systems
Index and assign scanned documents accurately to the corresponding patient charts using Solarity and Epic systems
Review scanned images for quality, clarity, and proper categorization, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
Address and resolve errors, duplicates, or misfiled documents in coordination with relevant staff
Ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to state, federal, and organizational healthcare regulations
Assist with general medical record duties, such as filing, retrieving, and releasing records in accordance with policies
Collaborate with team members to support departmental activities and initiatives aimed at process improvements
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and other stakeholders, following established procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
coursework or certification in Health Information Management is preferred
At least one year of experience in a healthcare office or health information management department
Familiarity with Epic systems and Solarity indexing software is highly desirable
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medical documentation
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards is advantageous
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Epic systems and Solarity indexing software is highly desirable
