Job Description:

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Records Technician in Shelton, Washington. In this role, you will play an integral part in our healthcare team by managing and maintaining patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and facilitating smooth patient admissions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately process incoming information for patient check-ins and check-outs, such as records requests from other hospitals or clinics
  • Receive, scan, and input information from faxes and emails into our system for record keeping
  • Request and retrieve patient records from various platforms, ensuring complete information is captured and uploaded into patient files/charts
  • Review notes from medical staff, make necessary adjustments, and add them to patient charts
  • Scan and upload additional necessary information pertaining to patient history
  • Ensure patient charts are clean and up-to-date for referrals, pharmacy needs, or for closing out patient records
  • Conduct daily audits and census reports to ensure charts are in compliance
  • Utilize medical terminology to effectively communicate and understand patient needs
  • Answer phone calls and collect basic referral information from patients or other healthcare providers
  • Verify patient insurance details and maintain accurate records
  • Utilize online reporting system to document compliance and chart documentation
  • Utilize software such as Aviator and Office Suite to perform tasks effectively

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Auditing techniques and practices
  • Ability to work with Charts and Graphs
  • Solid understanding of Compliance requirements in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in Checking Patients' health records
  • Knowledge of Patient Eligibility determination
  • Proficiency in Office Suite
  • Ability to handle Patient Demographic data accurately
  • Experience in maintaining and updating Patient Charts
  • Expertise in managing Patient Records
  • Familiarity with Insurance Verifications processes
  • Understanding of HIPAA Compliance and Patient Privacy Rule
  • Experience in managing Patient discharges documentation
  • Proficiency in handling both Inbound and Outbound Calls
  • Ability to work with Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Experience in Medical Records management
  • Familiarity with Medical records review and analysis
