Job Description:

A medical office in Roseville is seeking a Temp-to-Hire Medical Records Specialist to join their team. Responsibilities include managing medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, updating electronic health records, collaborating with healthcare providers, assisting patients with their inquiries, and administrative tasks. Applicants should have proven experience in medical records or healthcare administration, familiarity with EHR systems, strong organizational skills, understanding of HIPAA regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and maintain detailed medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Process requests for patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Input and update patient information in the electronic health records (EHR) system
Perform quality checks to ensure completeness and accuracy of all records
Collaborate with healthcare providers to retrieve necessary documentation and address discrepancies
Provide customer service support to patients inquiring about their medical records
Assist with administrative duties as needed, such as filing, scanning, and organizing records

Requirements:

Proven experience in medical records or healthcare administration (minimum 2 years preferred)
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, especially Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
