Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team in Palm Springs, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and organized patient medical records, ensuring the confidentiality and accessibility of critical healthcare information. Job Responsibility:

  • Create and assemble new patient charts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards
  • Prepare alpha-lists, labels, and superbills for upcoming patient appointments
  • Retrieve medical records for scheduled visits, walk-ins, and add-on appointments
  • Organize, date, and file incoming reports into patient medical records promptly and accurately
  • Collect and prepare medical records from clinical areas and physician offices for next-day appointments
  • Process requests for medical information, including photocopying records for patients, physicians, insurers, and legal entities
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies in all tasks
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for operational enhancement
  • Provide timely responses to healthcare providers' requests for medical information to support patient care
  • Support the overall mission of the healthcare facility by ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of medical records

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Familiarity with medical record principles and practices is essential
  • Previous clerical or office experience, preferably in a Medical Records Department
  • Proficiency in using computers, particularly in a Windows environment with Office applications
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with healthcare staff
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to the position
  • Experience working with electronic medical records systems is preferred
