We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team in Palm Springs, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and organized patient medical records, ensuring the confidentiality and accessibility of critical healthcare information. Job Responsibility:
Create and assemble new patient charts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational standards
Prepare alpha-lists, labels, and superbills for upcoming patient appointments
Retrieve medical records for scheduled visits, walk-ins, and add-on appointments
Organize, date, and file incoming reports into patient medical records promptly and accurately
Collect and prepare medical records from clinical areas and physician offices for next-day appointments
Process requests for medical information, including photocopying records for patients, physicians, insurers, and legal entities
Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies in all tasks
Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives by identifying areas for operational enhancement
Provide timely responses to healthcare providers' requests for medical information to support patient care
Support the overall mission of the healthcare facility by ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of medical records
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Familiarity with medical record principles and practices is essential
Previous clerical or office experience, preferably in a Medical Records Department
Proficiency in using computers, particularly in a Windows environment with Office applications
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with healthcare staff
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to the position
Experience working with electronic medical records systems is preferred
