We are looking for a dependable Medical Receptionist to support a busy outpatient office in Dayton, Ohio. This is a Contract position that requires an experienced, detail-oriented front-desk team member who can create a welcoming experience for patients while keeping daily administrative tasks organized and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings prior medical office experience, communicates clearly with both patients and staff, and stays composed in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome patients at the front desk, complete check-in activities, and ensure arrival information is communicated promptly to the appropriate care team
Coordinate patient appointments by managing the schedule accurately and helping maintain an efficient daily flow for the outpatient office
Confirm insurance details and collect required documentation so financial and administrative records are complete and up to date
Prepare, scan, fax, and organize patient-related forms and other office documents in accordance with clinic procedures
Support front-office operations by answering routine questions, assisting with intake materials, and providing courteous service throughout each visit
Use NextGen to access scheduling and patient information needed for registration and front-desk coordination
Work closely with other reception staff to maintain smooth coverage at the front desk and support overall office efficiency
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in a medical receptionist, medical front office, or similar healthcare administrative role
Hands-on experience with patient scheduling, check-in procedures, and general receptionist responsibilities in a clinical environment
Ability to verify insurance information accurately and handle related paperwork with strong attention to detail
Familiarity with basic medical terminology and confidence working with outpatient patients and staff
Experience using electronic medical records or practice management systems, including NextGen preferred
Strong professionalism, dependable attendance, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members
