We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join a busy healthcare practice. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and is critical to delivering a positive patient experience while ensuring smooth front-office operations.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and manage calendars
Check patients in and out
verify demographic and insurance information
Collect co-pays and balances, and process payments as needed
Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system
Handle medical records, referrals, and prior authorizations as required
Coordinate with clinical staff to support daily workflow
Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
Perform general administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and data entry
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service role preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Professional demeanor with a patient-focused mindset
