We are seeking a professional and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience while supporting daily front office operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment.
Job Responsibility
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Answer and direct incoming phone calls
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and demographic details
Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical record systems
Collect co-pays, balances, and other payments as needed
Respond to patient inquiries regarding office procedures, billing, and appointments
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and other correspondence
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in a medical office or receptionist role preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and scheduling systems preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
