Job Description:

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support daily operations in a healthcare setting. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital part in delivering a positive patient experience while supporting clinical and administrative staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, professional, and compassionate manner
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • manage voicemails and patient inquiries
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
  • Verify patient information, insurance eligibility, and demographic data
  • Check patients in and out, collect co-pays, and balance daily transactions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA
  • Scan, file, and organize medical documents and correspondence
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to support patient flow and office efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-desk area

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • medical office training or certification preferred
  • previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role strongly preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures
  • experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred
  • familiarity with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations a plus
  • strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • professional demeanor with empathy and discretion
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Nice to have:

  • medical office training or certification
  • experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
  • familiarity with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations
