We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support daily operations in a healthcare setting. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital part in delivering a positive patient experience while supporting clinical and administrative staff.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, professional, and compassionate manner
Answer and direct incoming phone calls
manage voicemails and patient inquiries
Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
Verify patient information, insurance eligibility, and demographic data
Check patients in and out, collect co-pays, and balance daily transactions as needed
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA
Scan, file, and organize medical documents and correspondence
Coordinate with clinical staff to support patient flow and office efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-desk area
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
medical office training or certification preferred
previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role strongly preferred
knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures
experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred
familiarity with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations a plus
strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
professional demeanor with empathy and discretion
ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Nice to have:
