We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to support daily front-desk operations for a healthcare setting in New Jersey. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a patient-facing environment and can balance administrative tasks with excellent service. The person in this role will help create an efficient, welcoming experience for patients while keeping appointment flow and records organized.
Job Responsibility:
Welcome patients upon arrival, confirm appointment details, and guide them through the check-in process efficiently
Coordinate provider calendars by scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming patient visits based on office procedures
Manage incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, direct inquiries appropriately, and relay messages in a timely manner
Maintain accurate patient information within electronic medical records and update documentation as needed
Support front-office operations by handling routine reception tasks, preparing paperwork, and assisting with patient flow
Communicate clearly with patients regarding basic office procedures, appointment expectations, and general administrative questions
Monitor the reception area to ensure a welcoming, organized, and patient-friendly environment at all times
Requirements:
Prior experience in a medical front office or receptionist role within a healthcare environment
Working knowledge of patient scheduling processes and front-desk administrative procedures
Experience performing patient check-in and managing high-volume receptionist duties accurately
Ability to operate a multi-line phone system while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
Familiarity with basic medical terminology used in a clinical or physician office setting
Hands-on experience using EMR or electronic medical records systems
Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills in a fast-paced setting
