Job Description:

We are looking for a personable and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team in New Rochelle, New York. In this long-term contract role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This position also involves administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the medical office.

Job Responsibility:

Welcome patients warmly and assist with check-in processes, ensuring accurate collection of personal and insurance information
Verify and update insurance details, addressing any discrepancies to ensure smooth billing processes
Handle cash payments securely and maintain accurate financial records
Manage patient data by entering and updating information into medical software systems
Assist with clerical duties such as filing, organizing, and categorizing medical charts and documents
Respond to phone calls and inquiries, scheduling appointments and providing information as needed
Collaborate with the team to maintain an organized and efficient office environment
Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards when handling patient information

Requirements:

Familiarity with medical software and systems, with the ability to learn new platforms as needed
Basic knowledge of billing functions and insurance processes
Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing charts and paperwork
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and staff effectively
Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate
