Performs medical and/or surgical procedures as qualified to perform, approved by the AHN Medical Staff Office and in accordance with medical staff bylaws
Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests
Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications
Displays knowledge of the principles of growth and development while demonstrating the skills and competencies appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served
Completes all medical record documentation in a timely and complete manner
Demonstrates proficiency in documentation and billing processes. Understands and complies with federal and state coding policies
Ensures patient safety. Acts as a patient advocate
Ensures patient confidentiality. Will limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job. Will share information only on a need-to-know basis for work purposes
Actively participates in AHNMG/Service Line/Department/Practice activities and meetings as requested
Meet both AHNMG and division-specific Minimum Work Standards, including Access, Citizenship, Production and Quality
Actively participates in AHN performance improvement processes and actively engages in successful performance improvement gap closure by striving to meet operational and quality metrics
Actively participates in marketing and business development of AHNMG and practice
Pursues personal and professional development. Is a life-long learner

Requirements:
Eligible for prescriptive authority through the Georgia Board of Nursing and/or Georgia Composite Medical Board
If applicable in setting, must have or be eligible to obtain a DEA license
Nurse Practitioner –Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required
Georgia license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse through the Georgia Board of Nursing required
Certification in the area of practice and appropriate for the population served from a nationally recognized certifying body required
