Job Description:

Be a Part of a Community Driven by Opportunity at Harwich and Dovercourt High School. We are looking for a dedicated Medical Officer to become a vital part of our Student Support Team. The role is 37 hours per week (8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 3:30pm Friday) and is a 40-week-per-year role, which includes term time, non-pupil days, and an additional 1 week during school closure periods.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take charge of the safekeeping and administration of student medication with parental consent
  • Administer First Aid to students and staff as needed
  • Have oversight of all matters relating to sick or injured children
  • Liaise with parents and medical personnel as required
  • Create Care Plans, with parents and HCPs, for all students with specific medical needs

Requirements:

  • First Aid at Work qualification or similar
  • Successful experience of working with children in a school environment
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Good knowledge of appropriate procedures, regulations and guidance
