Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join a well-established litigation team in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, hybrid position supporting attorneys in complex medical malpractice matters. The ideal candidate brings strong experience working with medical records, expert coordination, and trial preparation in a fast-paced legal environment. This role is primarily in-office (4 days/week) with 1 remote day and offers competitive hourly compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Job Responsibility:

  • Obtain, organize, review, and summarize extensive medical records and related documentation
  • Draft detailed medical chronologies and case summaries
  • Assist with identifying, retaining, and coordinating medical expert witnesses
  • Manage case calendars, deadlines, appointments, and litigation schedules
  • Support attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and evidence tracking
  • Conduct factual and legal research to support case strategy
  • Maintain accurate case files and perform additional litigation support tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience
  • Medical malpractice experience required
  • Prior experience in personal injury or complex litigation strongly preferred
  • Nursing or clinical background (RN, LPN, or similar) is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with legal case management systems and standard office software
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff
