Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on the knowledge and skills of our medical technologists when it comes to evaluating medical lab tests to determine what’s happening with our patients. They are vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases, accurately analyzing and reporting all lab tests according to procedures and regulatory guidelines. Job Responsibility:

  • Align with local and state requirements to perform tests according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Provide excellent patient care throughout laboratory process within established turnaround times
  • Assist in upkeep and maintenance of major automated equipment
  • Perform proficiency testing as assigned, participating in opportunities for continued education or training
  • Complete all work and resolve or escalate issues as needed
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology, or related field defined by CLIA
  • High school diploma/GED and trained as Medical Lab Specialist in military
  • Appropriately trained in clinical lab science

Nice to have:

Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP
