Job Responsibility:
Technical Medical Laboratory Technician bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s)
Perform routine and complex tests in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Molecular, and Immunohematology
Planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis
Establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations
Professional Medical Laboratory Scientist bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s)
Perform routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean
Requirements:
Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
Or National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Medical Technologists upon hire
Or National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Association of Bioanalysts upon hire
1 year as a MLT in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation
Or Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
Or Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas
