This is a combined posting for Medical Laboratory Technician and Medical Laboratory Scientist. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Job Responsibility:

  • Technical Medical Laboratory Technician bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s)
  • Perform routine and complex tests in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Molecular, and Immunohematology
  • Planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis
  • Establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations
  • Professional Medical Laboratory Scientist bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s)
  • Perform routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned): Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
  • National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
  • Or National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Medical Technologists upon hire
  • Or National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Association of Bioanalysts upon hire
  • 1 year as a MLT in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation
  • Or Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program
  • Or Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas
  • National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
  • Or National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists upon hire
  • Or National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire
  • Or Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists upon hire
  • 1 year in a clinical laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing
