Job Description

A Healthcare Company is seeking a Medical Insurance Verification Specialist to join its team. The Medical Insurance Verification Specialist will help ensure timely and accurate verification of patient insurance coverage for our healthcare facility.

Job Responsibility

  • Verify patient eligibility, coverage, and benefits for HMO, PPO, and government insurance plans
  • Communicate with insurance providers and patients to resolve coverage questions and discrepancies
  • Document all verification activities and update patient records accurately
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure appropriate coverage for planned procedures, including surgery
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and any out-of-pocket costs

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical insurance verification
  • Experience with HMO, PPO, and government insurance plans
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Nice to have

  • Surgical insurance verification experience strongly preferred but not a must
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus not a must
