Multiple Grade 1 or 2 Radiographer roles available. Full time or part-time, ongoing position working across all Austin Health sites. Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. The Austin Health Radiology Department offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional services and operates at both the Austin and Repatriation Hospitals, as well as providing a satellite imaging service to Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. The nature of the work requires extended hours provision of service, and all staff are expected to contribute appropriately to cover the extended hours.

Job Responsibility:

  • Working in a dynamic 24/7 hospital environment alongside exceptional team members
  • Undertaking routine and specialised medical imaging procedures using modern equipment and technology
  • Working with and/or supervising student radiographers
  • Liaising with other senior staff to ensure staff training and supervision needs are met

Requirements:

  • Perform radiographic examinations using both stationary and portable equipment in all patient care areas of the hospital.

  • After a sufficient training period the technologist may commence duties in these areas of specialization: - The technologist will be responsible to the Manager and Radiologist for the quality of work performed in these areas. - Quality control and quality management will be frequently monitored and reported on by the technologist to the Manager who will take appropriate action. - Quality management will be maintained in accordance with the goals and objectives of the organization and department and regular reports will be provided for the Manager to be presented to the Quality Council. - Records and files for these areas will be maintained by the Quality Management Co-ordinator for the department
