Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and patient-focused Medical Front Office Specialist to join our healthcare team in Carmel, Indiana. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while supporting daily front office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Schedule, confirm and reschedule patient appointments
  • Verify insurance information and collect copays or other payments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, forms and office procedures
  • Support medical staff with administrative tasks as needed
  • Ensure the front desk and reception area remain organized and welcoming
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and office policies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare administration or front desk role preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and medical scheduling software preferred
  • Strong communication, customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and patient registration processes is a plus
