We are looking for a skilled Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our clients team in Portland, Oregon, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play an essential part in providing administrative support and ensuring a welcoming environment for patients. This position is ideal for someone with experience in patient scheduling, front office operations, and medical terminology.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients with professionalism and ensure a positive experience as they check in and out of appointments
Schedule patient appointments efficiently, ensuring accuracy and adherence to clinic protocols
Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and maintaining an organized workspace
Verify patient information and insurance details while maintaining confidentiality
Utilize the Epic EMR system to update and manage patient records accurately
Coordinate with medical staff to optimize appointment schedules and minimize wait times
Handle administrative tasks such as managing correspondence, filing, and data entry
Assist patients with completing necessary forms and provide guidance as needed
Address patient concerns and escalate issues to appropriate personnel when required
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors
Requirements:
Previous experience in a medical front office or similar administrative role
Proficiency in patient scheduling and familiarity with medical office procedures
Working knowledge of basic medical terminology to support effective communication
Experience with Epic EMR or similar electronic medical records systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and staff
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
