Job Description:

The Medical Front Desk Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This individual is responsible for front desk operations including patient check‑in/check‑out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Greet and check in patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and benefits accuracy
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at time of service
  • Answer incoming phone calls and route messages appropriately
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in the EMR/EHR system
  • Scan, upload, and manage patient documentation
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy standards
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow
  • Resolve patient questions related to appointments, paperwork, or billing at a basic level
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed to support the clinic

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • additional coursework or education in healthcare is a plus
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical front desk, patient access, or healthcare administrative role preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows
  • Experience verifying insurance and collecting patient payments
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast‑paced clinical environment
