A Healthcare Company is seeking a Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join its team. The Front Desk Coordinator will be the first point of contact for patients, managing check-ins, scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with patient scheduling and insurance processes are essential. Along with performing front desk responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in assisting the physician with calendar management and coordinating travel arrangements.
Job Responsibility:
Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a welcoming environment
Respond to phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and managing inquiries related to dermatology services
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with electronic medical records (proficiency in systems like Epic or Cerner preferred)
Process payments and collect co-pays efficiently using the practice's payment procedures
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies
Manage the physician’s schedule, ensuring timely appointments and optimizing operational efficiencies
Organize and prioritize meetings and calls for internal and external communications
Collaborate with the medical office administrator to minimize scheduling conflicts
Plan and book travel arrangements for the physician, including flights, accommodation, and ground transportation
Prepare itineraries that align with clinic schedules, conferences, or commitments
Handle last-minute changes and cancellations promptly and effectively
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
additional certifications in medical office administration or related fields are preferred
Prior experience in a healthcare or dermatology setting is highly desirable
Proficiency in scheduling tools, travel booking systems, and electronic medical records (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, staff, and vendors
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Workday is a plus
Experience handling travel logistics for professionals
Knowledge of dermatology terminology and treatments
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is considered a plus
