This is a long-term contract position that involves ensuring a smooth and detail-oriented patient experience while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Responsibility:
Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility while reviewing their benefits
Accurately collect copays and process payments using established procedures
Resolve registration discrepancies and address front-end claim edits efficiently
Oversee patient flow and maintain precise documentation in Epic systems
Handle referrals and intake for specialty services, including managing virtual referrals from One Medical
Communicate effectively with both clinical and administrative staff to ensure coordinated patient care
Provide outstanding customer service to patients while addressing inquiries and concerns
Ensure the reception area operates smoothly, including managing multi-line phone systems and inbound calls
Requirements:
Proven experience in a medical front desk, patient access, or healthcare administrative role
Familiarity with insurance verification processes, copays, and eligibility procedures
Hands-on experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is preferred
Exceptional customer service skills, especially in high-pressure, high-volume environments
Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and solve problems effectively
Effective communication skills with an emphasis on patient-centered care
Ability to manage multi-line phone systems and perform receptionist duties efficiently
