Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical File Clerk to support a short-term Contract assignment in Georgetown, Delaware within a healthcare setting. In this onsite role, you will organize, digitize, and accurately store patient and employee records while following established handling procedures for sensitive information. This opportunity is well suited for someone with medical records and administrative experience who can work efficiently with both paper files and electronic systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare patient charts and caregiver personnel records for digital conversion by organizing, reviewing, and separating documents before scanning
  • Scan paper files using onsite multi-function equipment, ensuring both single-sided and double-sided documents are captured clearly and completely
  • Name and save electronic files to the designated network location using established file-labeling standards for easy retrieval
  • Maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of medical and employee documentation throughout the intake, scanning, and storage process
  • Follow provided instructions and coordinate with onsite leadership to complete file processing tasks in line with project expectations
  • Support document uploading into client record systems when needed, based on project direction and workflow requirements
  • Verify scanned records for legibility, completeness, and proper indexing before finalizing file storage
  • Handle a moderate volume of records efficiently while meeting daily productivity goals during the 4-5 day assignment

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in filing, clerical support, or administrative document management
  • Prior exposure to medical records, patient files, or healthcare documentation processes
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record platforms such as Allscripts, Cerner, or similar systems
  • Ability to work onsite in Georgetown, Delaware for the full duration of this short-term assignment
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow file-naming and record-handling procedures accurately
  • Comfortable using scanners, shared drives, and document management tools such as SharePoint
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and complete required documentation related to privacy compliance
