Job Description:

Medical Director role at Aetna, a CVS Health Company, focused on transforming health care through oversight of medical policy implementation and medical management programs. This is a remote position for candidates in the Great Lakes region working Central Time hours.

Job Responsibility:

Provide oversight for medical policy implementation
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical/medical programs
Support Medical Management staff ensuring timely responses to members and providers
Focus on overseeing utilization review/quality assurance
Responsible for predetermination reviews and reviews of claim determinations
Provide clinical, coding, and reimbursement expertise
Direct case management when necessary
Act as lead business and clinical liaison to network providers and facilities

Requirements:

Two (2) or more years of experience in Health Care Delivery System e.g., Clinical Practice and Health Care Industry
Active and current state medical license without encumbrances
M.D. or D.O., Board Certification in an ABMS or AOA recognized specialty including post-graduate direct patient care experience

Nice to have:

Previous UM experience with a Health Plan/Payor
Primary Care - Internal Medicine and Family Medicine
Acute Rehab and Post Acute Experience
