Job Responsibility

Spearhead the creation of a comprehensive advanced liver diseases program in the Baltimore region
Expand inpatient advanced liver diseases service, transplant evaluation clinics, and post-transplant care
Continue to be integrated into MGTI’s transplant program, supporting transplants in the allied Washington region
Increase the number of patients who undergo liver transplant evaluation and the number of patients who are listed for liver transplantation according to best medical practice while meeting program quality metrics
Collaborate with leadership from surgical oncology, hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery, and advanced GI to enhance the continuum of care
Lead outreach efforts to increase referrals and expand access to care
Help to expand the number of HPB surgical cases through coordinated tumor clinic efforts
Oversee medical operations as pertaining to the liver transplant and hepatology programs in the Baltimore region, including ongoing assessment of overall staffing needs, resource utilization and optimization, and oversight of standards and practice of hepatology physicians and non-physician associates within the department
