Job Description

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a Medical Director, Transplant Nephrology. The successful candidate will provide medical leadership to the renal transplant program, practice in Transplant Nephrology and Nephrology, and be involved in teaching and mentoring.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide medical leadership to renal transplant program
  • Work with Surgical Director to ensure clinical operations of kidney transplant program
  • Guide evaluation and planning for kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients
  • Participate in growth of program
  • Participate in Patient Selection Committee, QAPI, strategic planning and research initiatives
  • Practice and support Nephrology section clinical practice needs
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Mentor/educate Transplant Staff

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible for state medical license
  • Must meet UNOS and OPTN requirements
  • Completed fellowship in nephrology
  • Completed fellowship in transplant nephrology
  • Board certified in internal medicine
  • Certified/eligible in nephrology
  • At least one year of experience in transplant nephrology
