We are looking for a compassionate and composed Medical Customer Service Rep to support a busy physician group in Dublin, Ohio. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients, managing high-volume inbound calls, and creating a positive experience during scheduling and intake conversations. The person in this role will communicate with empathy, handle sensitive situations professionally, and help patients navigate appointments, billing questions, and general service needs.
Job Responsibility:
Respond to incoming patient calls promptly and professionally, providing clear guidance and a supportive experience
Coordinate new patient intake and update essential information accurately within the appropriate systems
Reschedule, confirm, and adjust appointments while ensuring patients understand next steps and timing
Address patient concerns with patience and tact, using de-escalation techniques to resolve challenging interactions
Build trust with callers by demonstrating empathy, active listening, and a service-focused approach
Assist with routine billing-related questions and direct more complex issues to the appropriate department when needed
Document call details thoroughly to maintain accurate records and support continuity of care
Work closely with clinic staff and operational teams to ensure scheduling and patient service processes run smoothly
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in customer service, call center support, or a related patient-facing role
Familiarity with basic medical terminology and common healthcare office procedures
Experience handling inbound calls in a fast-paced healthcare or medical office environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm, attentive, and empathetic during difficult conversations
Ability to build rapport quickly and provide high-quality service to patients and internal teams
Working knowledge of patient intake processes and appointment scheduling coordination
Nice to have:
Exposure to patient billing questions and general healthcare operations is preferred
