Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to healthcare operations by ensuring accurate billing, resolving claims, and supporting patient scheduling. Based in Richmond, Virginia, this role is integral to maintaining efficiency in Medicaid and home health billing processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage Medicaid and home health billing, including claims for Aetna, Anthem, Sentara, United, and other insurers
  • Handle denials and appeals, ensuring timely resolution to maintain billing accuracy
  • Process prior authorizations and submit claims on a bi-weekly basis
  • Collaborate with patients and staff to build monthly schedules for healthcare services
  • Clean up accounts receivable buckets by addressing outstanding balances and discrepancies
  • Utilize EHR systems such as Allscripts and Cerner Technologies to streamline billing functions
  • Monitor benefit functions and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Conduct claim administration tasks with precision and attention to detail
  • Work remotely Monday through Friday while adhering to deadlines and performance standards
  • Support home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities with billing and administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Medicaid and home health billing processes
  • Familiarity with EHR systems like Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Epaces
  • Proficiency in Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) for efficient data management
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable, including cleanup and reconciliation
  • Expertise in handling appeals, denials, and claim administration
  • Ability to manage billing functions for home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills to build patient schedules and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and benefit functions
