We are looking for a detail-oriented medical biller to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and auditing medical bills to ensure compliance with state fee schedules, customer guidelines, and organizational discounts. This Contract to permanent position requires strong analytical skills and familiarity with medical billing processes to support accurate and efficient claim administration.
Job Responsibility:
Audit medical bills to verify compliance with state fee schedules, customer guidelines, and organizational discounts
Utilize fee schedule knowledge and computer systems to complete billing reviews
Reference appropriate materials and resources during the auditing process when necessary
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance to meet operational needs
Adhere to safety regulations and workplace policies as part of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing or related fields
Proficiency in systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR systems
Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Epaces
Strong knowledge of accounts receivable (AR), appeals, and benefit functions
Experience with billing functions and claim administration processes
Understanding of workers’ compensation requirements and procedures
Ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
