We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing professional to join our team on a contract with the potential for a permanent position. This role is based in Richmond, Virginia, and involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical billing processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fee schedules, billing guidelines, and medical billing systems.
Job Responsibility:
Audit medical bills to confirm compliance with state fee schedules, organizational discounts, and client-specific guidelines
Utilize fee schedules and computer systems to verify the appropriateness of billed charges
Reference materials and resources to support the auditing process as needed
Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to company policies and safety regulations
Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support billing operations
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and auditing processes
Proficiency in systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR platforms
Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Epaces
Strong understanding of accounts receivable, appeals, and benefit functions
Knowledge of billing functions, claim administration, and workers' compensation
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
