Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Medical Biller / Collections Specialist to join our team in Boca Raton, Florida. This role is responsible for accurate medical billing, claims submission, insurance follow-up, and collections to ensure timely reimbursement and optimized cash flow. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of insurance processes, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to resolving outstanding accounts.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance carriers for timely reimbursement
  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility to ensure billing accuracy
  • Monitor claim status and conduct follow-up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims, including appeals and resubmissions
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies by working with payers, patients, and internal teams
  • Post payments, adjustments, and denials while reconciling accounts and ensuring proper allocation
  • Manage accounts receivable by reviewing aging reports and prioritizing outstanding balances
  • Contact insurance companies and patients to collect payments and resolve overdue accounts
  • Negotiate payment plans and provide billing explanations to patients as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all billing and collection activity in compliance with regulations
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all federal/state billing and collection guidelines

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, collections, or revenue cycle management
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims processing, denial management, and reimbursement methodologies
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems and billing software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts effectively
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
