Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Medical Biller with coding experience for a contract opportunity in Des Moines. As a Medical Biller/Coder for our client, your primary focus will be to accurately code medical diagnoses, procedures, and services in line with medical documentation utilizing the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Edition (ICD-10). We are seeking a candidate who has a strong understanding of medical billing procedures and the ability to sustain high standards of data privacy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle time-frame
  • Check and balance each day's transactions and address any inconsistencies
  • Updating billing software with rate changes
  • Thoroughly comprehend the intricacies of insurance policy benefit packages and apply this knowledge when coding
  • Possess the ability to discuss billing issues with doctors, hospitals, and clinics

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid ICD-10 coding certification
  • Proven experience in medical billing/coding
  • Strong knowledge of medical insurance policies and medical terminology
  • Excellent data entry, organizational and communication skills
  • High level of self-motivation, ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and billing software
