Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. In this contract position, you will play a key role in supporting patient care and administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with patient intake, registration, and scheduling appointments efficiently
  • Handle insurance authorization requests and ensure timely submission of necessary documentation
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient information is updated in the system
  • Support administrative tasks, including patient check-ins and eligibility verification
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to submit orders and manage prior authorizations
  • Triage multiple tasks during clinic hours, ensuring smooth operations and patient satisfaction
  • Address and resolve challenges promptly, demonstrating problem-solving skills
  • Uphold integrity and professionalism when dealing with sensitive patient information
  • Ensure consistent attendance and punctuality to support clinic operations
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a high standard of care and service

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in a medical setting, preferably in specialty or primary care
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Epic systems
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent educational background preferred
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues independently
  • Reliable attendance and a stable work history are essential for this role
  • Proximity to Walnut Creek, California, recommended for ease of commute
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare setting
