Medical Assistant position in Internal & Family Medicine - Internal Medicine department. Full-time role with Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm schedule. Responsible for providing patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, including clinical tasks, lab duties, medication administration, and administrative support.
Job Responsibility:
Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice
Performs rooming/visit tasks (vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings)
Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered
Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation
Maintains a clean work environment and ensures equipment/supplies are in working order
May assist with training and onboarding
May serve as a role champion or on a committee
Provides age-appropriate care
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training per DD214 (or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience within last 5 years for IL/WI/Floyd & Navicent divisions)
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required (or obtain within 45 days for IL/WI/Floyd & Navicent)
Recognized or certified as a CMA or RMA by a National Organization (e.g., AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT)
Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant
Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within Medical Assistant scope
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation, and electronic mail
Demonstrates customer service skills
Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach
Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with fine-hand manipulation skills
Nice to have:
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within 1 year in select areas
Experience as a primary trainer for new teammates
Professional practice advancement through professional governance, safety coach, super-user, vaccine coordinator, SPICE or OSHA/IP certificate holder
