As a Medical Assistant on our PACE team, you’ll support providers, participants, and families with timely, hands‑on care and exceptional coordination—ensuring each participant receives the respect and attention they deserve. In our PACE clinic, you'll be an essential part of keeping care moving smoothly and safely.
Job Responsibility:
Take vital signs, administer vaccines, collect specimens, and perform point‑of‑care testing per provider orders
Assist APPs, physicians, and nurses with exams, procedures, and treatments—including nebulizer therapy
Complete participant check‑in/check‑out and ensure timely, accurate EHR documentation
Notify participants of normal lab results as directed by the APP/RN
Provide warm, respectful service that supports participant satisfaction and dignity
Prepare charts with updated labs, imaging, and outside provider notes

Draft templated participant communications for APP/RN approval
Monitor clinic dashboards/inboxes and route high‑priority items to the correct clinician
Manage referrals/authorizations: build complete packets, route for approval, upload final documentation, and track to closure
Conduct routine follow‑up calls to families for confirmations, information gathering, or clarification, following protocols
Coordinate specialty care by sending records to consultants and tracking receipt of recommendations
Assist with pre‑operative workflows, including retrieving forms, scheduling, and uploading documentation
Support admission/discharge processes by collecting AVS summaries, medication lists, and facility paperwork
Contribute to semi‑annual care plans by tracking referral completion and preparing updated packets
Assist with urgent walk‑ins by performing intake, documenting symptoms, and preparing rooms quickly
Provide administrative support including uploading documents, tracking overdue items, preparing draft forms (FMLA, transit), and monitoring immunization needs
Prepare exam rooms and instrument trays
restock and clean rooms per protocol
Complete basic maintenance on clinic devices (INR machines, glucometers, oxygen equipment) and escalate issues as needed
Maintain clinic and home‑care supply inventories
Label specimens and prepare them for courier pickup
Support scheduling, referrals, and order management
Maintain vaccine logs, medication inventories, and refrigerator/freezer temperature records
Enter accurate, timely notes and documentation into the EHR
Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certification or Registration (RMA or CMA)
If not yet certified: at least 3 years MA experience within the last 7 years and willingness to become certified/registered within 6 months of hire
1+ year of experience with older adults (paid or volunteer)
Primary care experience preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑based clinical environment
Basic computer proficiency and comfort using EHR systems
A compassionate, dependable, participant‑focused mindset
