Medical Assistant position in Virtual Primary Care Pediatrics, providing patient care, assisting providers, performing lab duties, and maintaining clinical environments.
Job Responsibility:
Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice
Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history
Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered
Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection
Administers medications and vaccines safely
Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations
Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation
Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately
May assist with training and onboarding of other teammates
May serve as a role champion or on a committee
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training per DD214
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment
Recognized or certified as a CMA or RMA by a National Organization
Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant
Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills
Demonstrates customer service skills
Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders
Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch
Nice to have:
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within 1 year in select areas
Demonstrates professional practice advancement through professional governance, safety coach, super-user, vaccine coordinator, SPICE or OSHA/IP certificate holder
Achieves 6 points from the list of additional market responsibilities
