Job Description:

As part of Oak Street Health's team, Medical Assistants support care teams by ensuring efficient patient flow, assisting providers, delivering screenings, maintaining exam room cleanliness, performing routine tests, and participating in care team meetings. The role requires flexibility, problem solving, and attention to detail in delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure efficient patient flow
assist providers with schedules
obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medication reviews
deliver screenings
stock exam rooms
perform quality control checks
maintain cleanliness and safety of exam rooms
provide telephonic support under RN or provider direction
assist with home-based support for high-risk members
administer vaccinations
perform procedures such as ABI, spirometry, and EKGs
conduct waived laboratory testing
schedule diagnostic testing
apply or assist with durable medical equipment
support care team with medical records
participate in care team meetings

Requirements:

Flexibility
attention to detail
problem solving skills
ability to perform routine diagnostic testing
ability to build relationships with patients
medical assistant certification or experience preferred
ability to assist providers and nurses with procedures such as administering vaccinations, ABI, spirometry, and EKGs
competency in performing laboratory testing and scheduling diagnostic tests
familiarity with durable medical equipment
ability to scan medical records into EMR systems
participation in care team meetings

Nice to have:

Experience working in high-touch patient care settings
knowledge of infection control measures
experience ordering medical supplies and managing stock
