Virginia Mason General Surgery is seeking a Medical Assistant Registered in our Cardiology ambulatory clinic. The Medical Assistant Registered is responsible for assisting the medical and nursing staff by performing clerical and clinical support tasks as directed. Responsibilities include, coordinating schedules for patients and providers, and other clinical tasks that support our providers in patient care. Additional responsibilities include patient flow, rooming and taking medical histories. Job Responsibility:
Assisting the medical and nursing staff by performing clerical and clinical support tasks as directed
Coordinating schedules for patients and providers
Performing other clinical tasks that support our providers in patient care

Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
6 months experience in a medical office/clinic or graduation from an accredited Medical Administrative Assistant, Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program
Ability to obtain Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason
Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason, required within 60 days of hire
Knowledge of medical terminology
Professional demeanor with a positive, upbeat attitude, strong communication skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal communications
Detail oriented with ability to multi-task
Capable to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrative and clinical staff, leaders, patients and physicians
